Welcome to Maine - known for their lobster, rugged wilderness, lighthouses, and flies as big as horses!
I have traveled up and down coastal Maine. The rugged shoreline is one of my favorite on the East Coast. Home to many amazing wildlife from moose to puffins and plenty of sea critters inbetween!
Fun facts:
- There are over 4,000 islands off the coast of Maine! Maine also has 3,478 miles of coastline which is more than California (by 51 miles but if you include the coastlines of all those islands, it increases by 2,000 miles)!
- There is a 24/7 L.L. Bean in the company’s founding town of Freeport!
- Maine produces approximately 40 million pounds of lobster annually! That’s a lot of crustaceans!
