Kentucky has something for everyone. If you're not here for the horses and fancy hats, you can find vibrant cities full of art, history, and beautiful country sides.

Kentucky bourbon is famous. So famous that the 95% of the world’s bourbon is made in Kentucky but what makes bourbon, bourbon? There are some very specific rules in order for the alcohol to considered bourbon. The drink must be produced in the United States. made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn, aged in charred oak barrels, distilled to no more than 160 proof, entered into the barrel for aging at no more than 125 proof, and bottled at 80 proof.

Kentucky is home to the longest cave system AND the largest cave room in the world. Overall Kentucky has approximately 130 known caves throughout the state. Some split towns right down the middle while others are so large you can explore them by boat!

Cocaine Bear came from here! Now I haven’t seen the cinematic movie that graced our screens in 2023, but I have seen the actual stuffed bear in person! Cocaine Bear’s story begins in Kentucky with a narcotics police officer turned drug smuggler. On one drug run, he experienced some issues with his plane and dropped cargo from the plane before having to evacuate it. Unfortunately for him, his parachute failed to open and was killed on impact. As for that package, it was filled with 88 pounds of cocaine. A bear found the cocaine before the investigators could locate the package and managed to scarf down about $20 million dollars of product. Today Cocaine Bear is located at the Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington.
