Welcome to Washington DC - also known as the District of Columbia and often confused with Washington State even though they are on opposite sides of the country.
Washington DC is the US capital and is where all the federal bills are printed and laws are made. It also is home to the Smithsonian Institute which is the world's largest museum and research complex.
Fun facts:
Two American Presidents kept pet Alligators at the White House – Herbert Hoover and John Adams – and they officially moved up on my list of favorite presidents.
The Washington National Cathedral has a stone Darth Vader head on the north side of the building.
The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. With over 38.6 million cataloged books.
