Welcome to California - home to several major cities including Los Angles, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, and Sacramento.
California has it all. Beaches, mountains, desserts, museums, city life, huge trees, and rugged coasts. There's a reason that it's so popular, as there is something for everyone here!
Fun facts:
- California has watermelon snow. Sounds like a tasty dessert but is actually fun colored snow. Basically there is a bacteria called psychrophilic and when it grows in cold environments it turns patches of snow pink or red. It’s not dangerous to humans but it isn’t recommended to consume.
- California’s state sport is surfing. This very on brand sport became official recently in 2018. Cowabunga dude.
- California has over 300 ghost towns. A lot of these towns came to be from the gold rush. The settlements quickly went from boom to bust and you can still visit many abandoned towns today. Just watch out for rattle snakes and the other critters that moved in when the people moved out.
