Travel Washington State

Hi, I'm Jen and I'm so glad you joined me!

I am a multidisciplinary artist who has way too many interests and can’t wait to share them all with you! This travel blog serves as my sketch book, which is filled with tips, tricks, doodles, photos, and stories collected on my adventures.

I feel most alive when I’m exploring somewhere new. My goal is to live a life like the adventure books I remember reading as a kid. I want to dive deep into a volcano, ride a camel in the Sahara, explore a ship wreck at the bottom of the ocean, any and every possible adventure – besides exploring unknown caves that us… They freak me out. I have no interest in getting lost in those hell pits. One with a gift shop? Sure. Abandoned cave or mine on some trail? An endless dark void of misery and despair? No thanks. But other than that, I’m pretty much down for any adventure, no matter how ridiculous it might seem!

Starting out

Creating this travel blog has been a dream of mine since my early 20’s. When I first started, I felt like I lacked the skills to make this dream a reality. Each time I tried, I’d be quickly discouraged and put it down for months before trying again. In November of 2023, I decided enough was enough and I was going to make it happen. There was a huge learning curve and many nights were spent banging my head against the keyboard. But I kept at it. And over the next 6 months, I finally made something I was proud of. Everything on this blog was designed, written, photographed and illustrated by me. If you’re interested in starting a blog, I highly recommend it and encourage it. I am a strong believer that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to and it’s worth all those long nights of frustration. Trust me!

Type of travel

I am a type A planner, meaning I love a good spread sheet and mapping out my trips. Planning for a trip has never felt like a chore, in fact it sparks my fire and gets me more excited to go. It’s a treasure hunt to scour through the internet to guarantee that we get to see the best attractions in the area. But when I’m in travel mode, I’m type B, meaning I live in the moment and remain flexible. Usually I make a realistic list of attractions I want to hit in that day and then add & subtract as I please. Interested in learning how I plan a trip? Most importantly, I like to keep it light heated and silly. The world is such an incredible place filled with magic, so whether new to travel, a seasoned traveler, or a travel enthusiast, don’t worry! You’re in the right place!
