New Jersey
Welcome to New Jersey, the place I was born and raised. The first thing you need to know is that there is a very distinct difference between North and South Jersey. The details are too complex for this blurb but one thing both areas agree on is that central Jersey doesn't exist.
New Jersey as a whole is known for being the garden state, it is also home to many factories, the famous Jersey Shore, and an "I will fight you" attitude.
Fun facts:
- Real Life monopoly is in New Jersey’s backyard. The game is based off the streets of Atlantic City. Atlantic City Boardwalk also has the title of being the world’s Longest Boardwalk, in addition, Salt water taffy’s originated from those very same boards.
- As the Diner Capital of the World, New Jersey diners are second to none. Most used to be open 24 hours or at least open late into the night. Unfortunately Covid changed that for a lot of them. I hope one day they bring back the late night diner scene.
- Square dancing is apparently the state dance..which is wild but makes sense why I was required to learn it in high school gym class against my own will.
